360Flex 2012 – Call for papers hasn’t closed!

I just wanted to make sure everyone knows for sure. The Call For Papers. HAS NOT closed. It’ll likely close mid November. Got an idea or three? Submit them now!

There’s no limit to what you can submit so if there’s something you want to talk about submit it.

Our basic rules for submissions are simple.

  1. What are you most passionate about in Flex/AIR/AS?
  2. What do you think other devs need to know?
  3. What are you uniquely qualified to talk about present?
If any of those things sparks an idea, then submit it. There’s no specific theme for 360|Flex 2012. Mobile will still be a big part for sure, but not the theme this time. Working on components? submit that. Working on some hard core AS3 stuff? Submit that.
All that said, go submit your presentation topic now! Waiting insures one thing. You’ll forget and then send me sad emails and tweets begging to be allowed to submit :) Let’s avoid that if possible. :)

360Flex 2011 – Cigars are awesome

ok well as a non smoker, I assume they’re awesome. I will say, (again, as a non smoker) i love the smell of cigar smoke. That’s not weird right?

If Cigars are your thing and you’re sticking around on Wednesday night (which you should just because it’s a great time to hang out with folks) then we’ve got a treat for you. Speaker and Adobe evangelist Kevin Hoyt is having a Cigar night on Wednesday the 13th.

You can RSVP here. Space is limited so don’t dilly dally!

360Flex 2011 – Adobe Sessions announced

I literally had to fly to San Jose, find Deep and pull her out of a meeting about Flex 5 to get this info, but I knew everyone would want to know what Adobe is planning to present at 360|Flex 2011 :)

So go check out the schedule page, I’ve updated the session details doc, and the schedule pdf, and of course the HTML version :)

See you in Denver!

360flex – Stay tuned for the schedule

We’re hard at work reviewing the submissions we’ve received so far. For the record, 360|Flex 2011 has received 160 submissions from about 100 people. That’s about 40 more than our previous record I believe. That’s awesome! I wish it made financial sense to have 360|Flex span 5 days! We’d still have to turn some topics down, but man, that would be a mind blowing week for sure! As it is, we’ll settle for a mind blowing 3 (4 if you want hands-on) days.

We should be notifying each accepted speaker, as well as those we couldn’t accept this week and publishing the schedule. As much as I hate sending the “so sorry” emails, i love being able to post the schedule and feel the excitement around the line up!

Tickets are already moving faster than ever before! Grab yours before they’re gone! And remember, you can pick up a ticket that includes 3 nights hotel, for a discount of $10/night from the hotel! Register now!

360MAX – Submit your topic!

I’m happy to announce that once again, we’ll be bringing the special 360|Flex brand of community awesomeness (unicorns) to Adobe MAX.

Today officially opens the window to submit topics. Previously we’ve done it as a wiki and more or less a free for all. This time around we’re trying something different.

  1. we have a theme of sorts, The 3 Ms: Mobile, Multitouch, multi-device. We’d love to really raise the bar for the MAX agenda with some deep dive, kick ass, mind blowing stuff on these Ms.
  2. You don’t have to submit something on one of the Ms, but we’re trying to pack as many as we can in, so keep that in mind.
  3. We’re curating the content this time. We love the openess of the wiki approach, but it’s a bit to hectic, and first come first served. So use the submission form (pay attention, you’ll see forms like this one more often from now on.)
  4. As always the rules are easy. You have to be attending MAX. We don’t get passes for our speakers to use, so you have to be attending already. We do have some passes we’ll attach to sponsorship. They’ll be expo only, but that’s an option if you’d like to present but weren’t planning on attending, saves you a few bucks :)

We’ll publish the schedule as soon as we can. MAX is gonna rock, if it’s within your budget to do MAX and 360|Flex, you should do it. If you have to choose, choose 360|Flex ;) we’re smaller and need your money more than MAX does :)

Come to think of it, go ahead and register right now for 360|Flex DC. It’s gonna be a great show, kick ass line up, and frankly the best place to get this kind of Flex/AIR/AS action. 40 sessions on nothing but this stuff, that’s bad ass!
