360Flex 2012 – Call for papers hasn’t closed!

I just wanted to make sure everyone knows for sure. The Call For Papers. HAS NOT closed. It’ll likely close mid November. Got an idea or three? Submit them now!

There’s no limit to what you can submit so if there’s something you want to talk about submit it.

Our basic rules for submissions are simple.

  1. What are you most passionate about in Flex/AIR/AS?
  2. What do you think other devs need to know?
  3. What are you uniquely qualified to talk about present?
If any of those things sparks an idea, then submit it. There’s no specific theme for 360|Flex 2012. Mobile will still be a big part for sure, but not the theme this time. Working on components? submit that. Working on some hard core AS3 stuff? Submit that.
All that said, go submit your presentation topic now! Waiting insures one thing. You’ll forget and then send me sad emails and tweets begging to be allowed to submit :) Let’s avoid that if possible. :)

360Flex – We’re Bringing Training Back

Now that I’ve got that song stuck in your head…

Some of you will remember this, many won’t. We once offered a two day hands on training course at the Ebay Campus. We had 4 instructors, and the entire weekend was hands on with frameworks.

Well we’re getting back into training. NOT just frameworks. That’s where you come in. If there was a 2 day hands on, meals included training in Denver sometime around January would you come? What would you like that training to be? Should be focus on more 101 intro level stuff, or see if we can’t raise the training bar and really go nuts? Maybe we do something mobile with Adobe’s shiny new Phonegap platform?

Your ticket to this training would also apply in part to a ticket to 360|Flex, because we’re cool like that.

What would you like to see offered?

Welcome to the New 360|Flex!

Just a quick post to welcome everyone to the new 360|Flex site. It’s been too long in coming, but here we are.

And Just in time to start making noise for the Call For Papers! Have you submitted? You should. This coming 360|Flex 2012 is gonna be off the hook. I know I say that about them all. But I’ve never been wrong right? OK Well maybe the DC one, but still. You don’t want to miss out on 360|Flex 2012. 2011 Sold out with a week to go. Waiting on the fence would be a hugely bad idea, you’re kidding yourself if you think 2012 won’t sell out faster than 2011 did. There’s only one 360|Flex (figuratively and literally) in 2012, and if you’re a Flex/AIR developer, missing it should not be an option. Check out what’s been said about previous 360|Flex events.

We’ve been a quiet around these parts, what with Adobe MAX and the site being under the maintenance header, but now, watch out!! It’s 360|Flex 2012 time!!

Take a look around the site, see what you think. More importantly, let us know what you think about the new look.

360MAX, come present at Adobe MAX (Sorta)

Well 360|Flex has come and gone for the year, BUT there’s one more chance to enjoy the special brand of awesome we bring to things :)

We’ve been invited back to Adobe MAX this year to host 360|MAX. The Call for papers is currently open, so go submit something awesome!

To make sure there’s no confusion. Speaking at 360|MAX does not mean you get into Adobe MAX for free. In fact you have to have an Adobe MAX pass to present. We do have a few expo only passes, so if you submit a topic and can’t afford to attend MAX, we might be able to help you out

360|MAX takes place all three days of MAX in the community pavilion, and sessions are 50 minutes. The goal of 360|MAX is to bring a bit of the 360|Flex community feel to MAX. Sessions outside the norm, or talking about things Adobe doesn’t or can’t talk as much about.

What’re you waiting for? GO submit a topic!

See you in LA in October!
