360Flex – An awesome night of nerd made music!! 360Flexapalooza!

As if you needed any other reasons to attend 360|Flex (Adobe keynote about AIR 2 and AIR Mobile, Doug’s first ever Keynote, Digital Primates Party, etc, etc, etc) here’s ONE more  reason to attend 360 Flex: 360 Flex-a-palooza on Monday Evening!

You know the community can code, but did you know that they can rock?
On Monday after the keynote, 360 Flex-a-palooza will take the Flex community to 11 and provide some good music, fun, and talent for the Monday evening festivities. Thanks to Jason the Saj and Scott Sheridan we’ve got a full PA and we’re ready to blow the roof off the Hilton!
Kicking off the evening festivities will be MC Jeffry Houser: THE Jeffry Houser of The Flex Show podcast.  During the evening MC Houser will be interviewing the community and podcasting live from the event.
The first act of the night will be none other than Ben Stuki, yes THE Ben Stuki of FxPrefix Kittie fame among many other most wonderful Flex and ActionScript goodness.  Ben will be performing a short solo set of musical stylings.
Next up will be Jeremy Saenz! You heard it right, Jeremy Saenz The Flex Gangsta will be gracing the stage ala Everlast style, you know him for the Flex Gangsta video, or even as an Asfusion team member, but during 360 Flex-a-palooza Jeremy Saenz will be kickin’ it solo with his guitar.
Following Jeremy will be the Compilers bringing it up a notch with a full band, some ‘G’-Funk, good ‘ole rock, and various Flash Platform embellishments and interactions. Two-thirds of the Compilers are 360 session speakers: Eric Fickes and Jun Heider and the Compilers will be the Flex-powered funk rock band giving a tech talk during lunch on Tuesday.  With the stuff that the Compilers build for their live shows, you can say they bring the ‘Geek’ to ‘G’-Funk.  If you haven’t yet heard of the Compilers read all about their set and technology at their Codebass feature: http://codebass.net/2010/07/23/the-compilers-music-doesnt-just-meet-technology/
While the volume is up, the next act will keep it up, 22nd Century will be rocking’ the house hard.  If you know Adobe, you know Duane “Chaos” Nickull him and his band will be coming out to 360 Flex just to rock the socks off the Flex community.
By this time it’s late, and what better than to bring in a DJ set?  Sean Moore aka ‘Sean the Flex Guy’ will be streaming in spinnin’ the 1s and 2s from an Internet-connected machine.  You heard that right, 360 Flex is a tech conference, so why not celebrate that with a remote DJ session.
Oh and did we mention that at some point during the night Ben Stuki will also be live coding some audio visualizers while the music’s flowing?
360 Flex-a-palooza will be the place to be on Monday evening.  Let’s recap:
1. MC Houser of the Flex Show
2. Ben Stuki
3. Jeremy Saenz aka ‘Flex Gangsta’
4. The Compilers
5. 22nd Century
6. Sean the Flex Guy
And just to whet your appetite even more, of the performers during the evening, four of them will be giving tech talks during the day…coders by day and performers by night: Jeffry Houser, Ben Stuki, Jeremy Saenz, Eric Fickes, and Jun Heider.
In the meantime, feel free to download a free compilation of techs who do music: Emergent Collective One:  This is an outstanding compilation put out by another Flex community member, Joseph Labrecque as an added bonus, it contains a track from the Compilers and one from Sean the Flex Guy (My Brother And I).
P.S. – Thanks to Ben Farrell of Codebass for providing a wonderful flyer.  Thanks to both Ben and Vicky Ryder of Codebass in advance for helping during the event!

Slight correction – name is spelled "Labrecque" (lā-brě-k) ;o

  2. Great job here. I really enjoyed what you had to say. Keep going because you definitely bring a new voice to this subject. Not many people would say what youve said and still make it interesting. Well, at least Im interested. Cant wait to see more of this from you.:)
