Interested in Mobile? RIA? Two new events now open.
You know Tom and I, this won’t be some weak sauce marketing focused event showing off “Roadmaps, future features, etc” that’s for the birds, this will be hands on, deep dive nitty gritty details from developers actually building in these platforms.
This is officially also the Call for papers! Have a mobile or RIA topic you’d like to propose? Send us an email!
360Flex – Win a reactor, FusionReactor that is.
360|Flex is always giving away free stuff. We normally have books, software, etc. Indy will be no exception. One of the software raffles will be a free copy of FusionReactor Enterprise Server Monitor. FusionReactor can be used to monitor Flex applications that have an under-lying Java back-end. It can also decode AMF – so you [...]
360Flex Indy – Why do we do it?
360|Flex (and 360|iDev too) are not shows owned by Tom and John. Sure, we’re the organizers and producers, but I’m willing to bet that our customers (attendees, speakers and sponsors) feel like they own them too. And they should. The thing that makes 360|Flex so special is that ownership by the community.
360Flex – Meet the Charity and the App
I’m pretty sure this is the first time we’ve actually made noise about the intended charity and the app to be built, so I’m glad to get a chance to finally do that. Plus it gives everyone an idea of what we’re going to see come the Wednesday keynote when Ali presents the groups progress! No pressure!
This year the Charity Code Jam will be supporting: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS)! Definitely a step up in the scope of the charity from the local level to the much larger national level (Nothing at all wrong with local, don’t get me wrong, love helping local businesses).
360Flex – Session – Michelle Bagur and Accessability
Despite the important role accessibility plays in applications, it is still difficult to implement well in Flex. In this session, we will examine the ways Flex is and is not useful for creating accessible applications. We will discuss Adobe’s basic accessible components and accessibility methodologies, along with the importance of accessibility considerations in initial design and architecture. We will also discuss the bugs that exist in Flex which preclude accessibility. The session will highlight lessons learned in an attempt to implement accessibility late in the development cycle of an application, and offer experiential advice on how to minimize frustrations of creating accessible applications. Finally, we will look at how the accessibility implementation is slated to change with the release of Flex 4.
