If you’re gonna be in Denver June 22nd, whether you make it to 360|Flex Indy or not, you had best attend the Rocky Mtn Adobe Camp.

What’s an Adobe Camp?

Well other than plain ol’ awesome, it’s the best of all things adobe or as the organizers put it, ’5280 reasons to use the Flash Platform’. Get it? A little riff on the mile high city thing! So an Adobe Camp is essentially 2 times cooler than a Flash Camp. Because it’s three tracks; Flash, Elearning, and Dynamic Media. Click below for more details on each track.

360|Flex 30 Day Countdown – Time to plan a road trip!

Last week, almost like clockwork, the ticket sales for 360|Flex started picking up again.  One great thing about our conference is even our “late comer” price of admission is still cheap.  $550 will get you 4 days of conference.  That’s 5 tracks, over 40+ sessions of pure Flex/ActionScript goodness for what many conferences charge for just their pre-conference training.

What must happen around this time, we figure, is that people go to their boss one last time to ask if they can come to the show.  They tell their boss, “I can drive, so you won’t have to pay for airfare.”  I know I used to, that’s why I figure others must!  With so much knowledge to be gained at the show, the $550 price tag can be easily justified to even the tightest of budgets.

Take a look at this map image:

Places nearby

As you can see, Indianapolis is pretty central to a lot of big cities.  There’s Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Louisville, St. Louis and Milwaukee.  If you live in or around those cities, you can very easily drive to the show.  It’s definitely not too late.

This show is going to be off the hook.  The networking opportunities on top of the sessions will deliver the best bang for your buck in 2009.  It’s the only 360|Flex this year, so you can assure the boss that you want be asking to come to the next one!  :)

Register for the show now. Come join what will surely be the best community driven conference east of the Mississippi this year!  You owe it to yourself to take advantage of this great bargain to advance your skillset.

360Flex – data viz with ILOG Elixir

In case you haven’t checked the schedule lately, Christopher Keeler had to drop out of speaking. We’re gonna miss him, his presentation in San Jose was both awesome and easily took the cake for most props.

In his place we’re happy to have Christophe Jolif from ILOG presenting on using ILOG Elixir to take Data Viz one step further.

This session will first introduce IBM ILOG Elixir visual components and describe how they can help you improve data visualization for your Adobe Flex & AIR applications.  In particular, the latest release and its new components such as pivot charts, calendars, heat maps, and Gantt project management displays will be described into details. Then the session will offer a deep technical dive, showing coding tips and tricks and how-tos information such as how to connect an ILOG Elixir Heatmap component to flickr API to display photos geolocation information, or how to extend the ILOG Elixir OrgChart to provide expand and collapse functionality. Finally we will see how Flex 4 and its new component architecture Spark could impact visual components development and use when released.

We had Christophe with us at 360|Flex Europe, so i’m glad he’s going to get to see what a US 360|Flex is all about!

We’re also going to have some Elixir licenses to raffle off, so that’s a huge cool plus!

Come learn all about ILOG Elixir and the coolness it adds to Flex charting, and possibly win a free license! Act fast, tickets are areally moving. REGISTER NOW!

360Flex – Session Preview – Experience Design with Flash Catalyst and Flex Gumbo

Erik Loehfelm will be talking about the oft overlooked, Experience Design aspect of Rich Internet Applications. It’s not just about the app, it’s about the experience. Flash Catalyst is Adobe’s latest tool to help make the developer designer workflow as seemless and pain free as possible. Flash Catalyst is really a game changing application in RIA development, if you deal with designers or do it yourself, you won’t want to miss Erik’s session.

Find out how to build real world user experiences using Adobe’s newest products: Flash Catalyst and Flex Gumbo. I’ll explore some best practices and pitfalls to watch out for in these early beta tools while building a prototype application from design through deployment. The audience will leave with an understanding of what these tools provide in their current builds, how they can be leveraged in the designer/developer workflow and some best practices for how to leverage their functionality in their own designs. I will provide all the source code and design notes for the application that we’ll build.

Register now, this is the only chance you’re going to get in 2009 to be with 400 Flex/AIR developers and 45+ speakers, the best and brightest names in the community. Register NOW!
